Chronicles of the Lord of power setting and history

Believe it or not this is a abbreviated version, still adding and developing it.

History, setting and the Forces of existence.
In the beginning there was not but Darkness a being of endless pain and suffering writhing and trashing with nightmares and fevered dreams of creation. After a great period of time after small expanses of creation founded pockets of stable time and dimensional energy were destroyed from the fevered dreams of Darkness the pockets that where destroyed merged together and created a conscious that after time fended off the encroaching darkness to create a proto universe that everything is based from.

By the time Darkness awoken from his long nightmare he came to the realization that this “creation” is noise and obstructs his rest and so he reached out to decimate it but before he could end time once more his hand was stopped by his pale mirror image and as the celestial giants fought time, energy and matter was shattered and returned to its primordial state. With no winner they rest as they lay time starts up once more and creation begins again and each time they fight everything is destroyed and returned to near nothingness after countless battles they realize they are equals and this scuffle is nothing but infinite and infantile attrition for them both tired of the endless fighting they decide to raise a army from the substances that arise around them and when one wins this war of creation shall lay claim to everything.

In the Coming eons as people across the universe and budding parallel dimension’s raced to the stars from the puddles of much and rim they evolved from started the first period of the War of Creation known as the War of labor, birth war, first breath war, newborns war or still born wars in parts of darker existence. This time period covers the shared attrition long before the earth bore life noble houses raised their respective races into warring factions, based around the 5 key elements of power, scattered across creation loosely focused on the real meaning of the War of Creation they seek to fulfill their own needs and desires but even in the infinite void of space such childishness will wane in time.
The noble houses of old have declined in power and now a new period in the war of creation has begun with no sub name most “participates” now are focused on the true meaning of the War of Creation to expand Lightness or Darkens reign across existence.
In order to balance the process and gain greater paws Lightness and Darkness have settled into their place in the scheme of things sitting in the misty void around a chess table they play multiple games of chess one at a time to vaguely but directly  involve themselves in existence. Pawns are easily gathered the rest of the pieces however feel the calling and are sent to a trail to see if they are worthy to become more than a pawn in this game for existence, if they fail their life could end or become fodder for the cause of darkness and their world could become a new battle ground for the war of creation even if it’s far away from the front..

The Lord of Power is such a pawn a earthling taken from the remains of his life and manages to pass his trail by a hairs breath only to break under the unforgiving bureaucracy of Light Forces going AWOL after most of his LF training, later becoming a Warrior of Creation a cross of private detective and mercenary to do odd jobs for Light Forces and even creation itself even being forced to do work for darkness. He also hears the calls of others is compelled to find them and aid them with his endless kindness which leads him on a wandering journey throughout all of creation running from his past and suffering to learn about life and understand himself once more.

But Lightness and Darkness do not work alone even if their hands go mostly unseen in existence great organizations have sprung up around them. Light Forces is both the governmental body and army of creation they both defend most areas from encroaching darkness and protect lesser races from advances or influence from anyone or anything as they believe that lesser races must earn the right to join them and that gaining power to quickly may corrupt them and send them to darkness. They run government in counsel archetype with the greatest races severing on the counsel and the lower ones merely being ambassadors with lil power outside their own race. While government is busy managing the day to day Light force and its generals truly rule over all in “white space” as Light forces needs authority to fight darkness anywhere even within itself even if they are quick to shine light on darkness near them everything else however is mired in bureaucracy stagnating the good they could do for creation.

Dark forces is a lose confederacy of worlds and peoples who either hate the light or Light forces or love fighting these darker beings only respect power and authority and their rules and laws mirror it. Their government is a military based one using their great generals as lead members of parliament. Unlike Light forces their greater generals rarely enter into conflicts as they have grown lazy with power they control fleets of millions and are rarely needed on the battle field this changes when the Son of Darkness appears and turns Dark Forces on its head while becoming the Lord of Powers most vicious and chaotic nemesis.

Characters

Lightness
Creation and existence colluded into a absent minded yet kind being, time has only made it more senile or perhaps merely seeing all that there is will make one slower on the intake of new information he is the whimsical and benevolent creator and first protector of light.  Lightness rarely shows himself to others as he is part of the light that comes from the stars and those that feel his presence wish to protect those stars from being devoured by darkness.

Darkness
Darkness came before creation it is the culmination of the decay of all things and thus is insurable to all things raging in its own exsiccate it merely wishes to show all how transparent life is and return all to the quietness of the infinite coffin. Those that have seen Darkness himself are changed and go mad or become devote to the ways of darkness but it is strange how the manifestation comes to each being as darkness is not chaos yet order in the shapeless abyss.

Lord of Power/Power Lord/Stranger
Removed from his home world before being drown in absolute despair from sorrowful events in his life he is sent to a fantasy world to learn about his powers to earn them to become a special member of Light forces, creations own army.
During his trail he learns about his abilities and the fundamentals of the world and its fight against darkness. Even though it’s discounted from the universal war of creation it’s a starting point for him, his task is simple defeat the darkness that plagues the world. As he arrives he is injured forcing amnesia on him but allowing him to grow in power faster as he relearns about himself n this new setting.

Eventually he returns to being himself a slightly shy and ditzy man who’s absent mindedness is 2nd to his kindness but that is put to the test as he enters into the universe and the bosom of Light Forces to learn more about his new place in existence only to run from the bureaucracy of light forces going Awol being lost for a time when he returns from his wanderings he gains an assistant a sibling made of wire and metal the AI he created is a sentient AI who took the appearance of a 6 foot tall blond female android. By this time his powers are still unstable but has found ways to compensate for it though gadgets and weapons. He has gained issues with himself but has found a place in existence he is comfortable with… A detective a mercenary a wonderer he goes to were creation calls to protect the balance of existence later he gains the title Warrior of Creation, but before that his given title is Lord of Power.

Sandy
In a last ditch effort he puts all effort into repairing the AI subsystem to use some cobbled together repair drone. Since his powers are still new to him he has to plug himself into the computer to program the AI he falls asleep in the process bringing Sandy into being. Sandy will be his AI “twin” throughout the rest of the series although without all of his self loathing and incompetence, where he is ugly she is elegant where he is dim she is intelligent where he is insufferable she is bright and content the only thing they share is a warped sense of humor a sibling rivalry kind of friendship a kindness and caring for others they are both good natured personalities at both ends of that spectrum.

DOL:
The Dragon of Light is the collimation of Lightnesses wit and humor a general in Light Forces and liaison between Lightness and LF and other races. He appears to be an old hooded man with reptilian features and a perverted sense of humor, he proclaims though he is just in it for laughs but it is hard to beg his true intentions sometimes oft bored and annoyed with Light forces and what they have become.
DD:
The Dark Dragon is a huge planetoid sized monster with lil sense of self or inelegance it’s the culmination of Darknesses rage and anger and like its master can sleep for millions of years, popping up now ad then in history.

I am going with a Human kin race theme most races share humanoid appearances and similarities in basic genetic structure. Currently only have 3 unique races with large drafts covering them.

Books and general plot points
Book 1 Covers the Lord of Powers prologue and his trail and the 5 key elements of power in a fantasy and magic based world, Book 2 covers his introduction to Light Forces the core home worlds of Light Forces, and him going Awall in the last half of the book all in a sci fi setting, Book 3 covers being crashed on a ruined and deserted planet, taking decades to repair the ship.
His first calling and vanishing happens when they get the ship ready for takeoff this may be where book 4 starts as e as a mini adventure being a amnesic wander on a sparsely populated desert world and sandy taking the patched ship into a LF automation dock that’s been under attack by DF b.u.g.s(bio usurper gnawing ship) basically bug like biological drones sent from a  nest in a large asteroid, she manags to talk her way in and get enough supplies to deal with them she all the parts can to build and refit a almost new ship and a android body built to her specifications.

After that another fantasy world and a new kind of dark plague to deal with past that a few yet to be wrote out encounters before he finds his earth and hides there for awhile only to have dark forces come out of nowhere I have the ending I aint sharing !
Beyond that at least 1 or 2 books before the Son of darkness shows up and another 1 or 2 to end it, FYI light fantasy novels have 2XX-4XX pages I am looking at 200 pages a book with at least 5 books.

The main themes are mainly fantasy and sci fi so wherever the Lord of Power wanders that what the setting will be.

Flood control not draconian limits that exacerbates the problems with the game industry.

The industry needs to forget about strictly control copies shared by friends and households but focus on mass downloading and illicit distribution. Using the activation system as flood control would do them more good and install tokens and hard limits.

5X2X3 5 installs a day or 10 a week or 30 in a month or 5X2X2 ending with 20 a month is a much better process that is easier to manage for the DRM provider as the data is purged every 3X days.

I am still not buying a game for more than 20 can not install and play offline, online only has to go and useing a simple automated phone in process or dialup friendly key generation site(IE you put in your install key if its valid it will give out a validation code). While the game is running it can check the key now and then to confirm everythign is on the up and up if tis bad it locks the game up. There is a beauty to the simplicity that comes with non evasive protection schemes and makes newer less polished products more worth while to the more jaded and knowledgeable consumer.

IMO the industry can not afford to lose because its us old farts that keep plugging money into the industry while the new kiddies might outnumber us they could leave for a different hobby at any time making any sweeping change in fads and trends could lead to destroy the industry.

The Staff of darkness is a separating staff in its basic modes, it can go for yards and miles its meant to be used to snare, subdue, crush demonic entities. The blade is used for cleaving and storage of souls. The runes on act as a archaic control system, the more runes the more power it controls.

However this staff is cursed with every level raised madness seeps in corrupting the user, only pain or lust can sate and slow the encroaching darkness.

But because of the cruse it has far more power than a normal Death enforcement weapon. The staff of darkness is built from a mostly purged but corrupted and cursed dark scythe an agent of death used to bring justice to” balance destroying” entities.Over time the weapon gt more and more corrupted and before it could be destroyed some fool went and stole it and used it to try and take over the universe but it eventauly ate him. Begin filled with so much chaotic engery the lord of power was only able to reforge it using a peice of his own soul as a catalyst to make it manageable. He could store it but it already devoured a few planetary systems by absorbing life force and souls. Hell in order tog et it not only didthe Lord of Power have to get to the weapon itself but inside tis pocket dimension to subdue or destroy some of the chaotic begins within it.

Mode Zero(If you will)  is a simple carry rod mode, soemtiems its unstable and neds to be banaaed up with seals on it I have it banaged up but not with the seals on peices of peaper I want to use Kanji seal tags/charms but have yet to find any.

Mode 1:Staff mode that can separate into endless amounts of controllable  chain.

Mode 2: Blade or scythe mode, this mode spews out small amounts of chaotic influence but can drain energy and cleave souls and cut through denominational walls at full power. The blade is multi positional and can be combined separating staff or chain mode.

Mode 3:The true scythe mode that drives the user to insanity, the weapon is hard to control in this mode and can not be separated but you still can make chain grow out of it through mini rips in space.

Mode 4:The final mode is the darkest scythe mode the black  rune staff becomes enveloped in gnarled wood like bio matter everything on it becomes warped sending the user into the lowest depths of madness.

Here I am again thinking about CP and how injects itself into common life, you might say but CP is the domain of corporations and content makers and I would say you are mostly right but it also gives them sweeping authority to harass the populace over non profiting means, and I use CP/IP loosely here as CP begot fair use the DMCA and other things that string along “content protection”.

Clips, mods, backups, parody and the CP owner.

The defined limits for these things are mostly not defined, parody has a hard enough rule it has to be battled out in court over, backups are still protected but for how long who knows Mod chips were protected until the DMCA came along and now we have clips which is starting to gain the ire of industry which thinks it has the absolute right to bully via the courts the public at large and with fair use being as vague as it is they can and will do so to herd the populace to gain as much profit as they can afford to spend on laws, propaganda and lawyers as the CP owners do not know any better or just going along for the ride hoping their suits can raise the bottom line at any cost akin to what the finical markets have done…

So what does fair use need to do? Make a hard rule over clips in modern times where the consumer can easily distribute “clips” and pictures and news themselves they must be protected before the CP owners in this new and “normal” arena of the modern age. So what’s a hard rule for clips besides some of the current wording we need a final layer of protection for the populace and that rule would be time defined I have come up with something a 10/10/50/10 rule,10% of the episode and or 10% of the totality of the series or film at no more than 50% of the total totality at no more than 10 minutes a “clip” as long as it falls under 2 of these 3 things(the 10minete being the 2nd one) its considered a clip and falls under fair use. Any user to any website is entitled to 10/10/50/10, breaking this rule does not mean the CP owner may automatically sue, it means you now can move to phase 2 a notice C&D/take down to the site the site has the legal right to show a clip under the 10/10/50/10 rule per user rule and then if that half a ep  or 15minete clip is still there then you can sue to have it taken down, however the site may set its own limits like 2 minutes to a video and such at least for CP works.

Now you ask yourself but 10 users can put up videos of hours of TV shows or parts of movies how does this protect CP owners, well frankly it does not but neither dose broadcast TV, broadcast radio or DVDs the point of the clip rule is to limit free expression to a point where it makes it burdensome to find all the clips and cut and paste it into a whole item, currently they cannot stop this as it is and they the CP owners toss out both the baby and the bath water when the sweep with a wide brush all the clips they can find the trouble is they can nto find them all and go after legitimate clips. Another thing about clips is it forces information to be ousted to the public so that the public can see and hear “non authorized” material forcing media to make less shallow entertainment. The clip rule needs to be in a wide sweeping fashion let normal people post rant and rave and “distribute” clips without fear of it being taken down or have them or the site being sued, this is a must in the modern age if we are to move forward with stiffer penalties for IP crimes.

Now with clips dealt with mod chips and making backups need to be dealt with in a more solid way, I have come up with 5 main things that need to be fully protected 2 of which are mostly covered in the above.

1.    Software you bought you may copy and crack to run for your own personal use but not unlock features above the level you paid for, this supersedes all end user agreements and contracts but server access.

2.     Media you bought you may copy and crack to run for your own personal use, this supersedes all end user agreements and contracts but server access.

3.    Fair use distribution needs to be worked into fair use and CP IE the right of the populace to show portions of IP works without fear of being sued)(this is more of a CP than a fair sue issue).

4.    Clips and works used for criticism(ranting, raving, ect) need a harder definition, there is no but here without a harder definition it allows the CP owners to bully the populace(covered in the above).

5.    .Hardware you bought can be cracked/moded to run for your own personal use, this supersedes all end user agreements and contracts but server access.

As we move to a more online world the online aspect of it needs to be protected without question, however if someone can create a program through a firmware loop hole and sue the program off a disc or drive to copy a a show then well that’s fair game that’s the free market at work you cannot protect CP owners against the sky falling they will just have to move their own ass out of the rain and make better hardware to limit non approved access.

IP crimes and misnomers
Piracy: The act of Highway robbery on the sea or A cheap outfit copying media to resell to the public at cut throat prices where the CP owner does not get a cut.
And mind you if they can get a 20-30% cut the media mafia should let them copy and distribute with no warranty or claim of it working, its a free market after all if you look to where its being sold(keep it out of well off areas) both of you could make a nice profit of it, of course an eye would have to be kept on the bank accounts of the seller…breaking the contract could make you a felon…

Now with Fair use strong and sturdy we can move to aiding CP owners with “real crime”, First off any case of piracy over 5G is felony, anything over 15G its treated like selling drugs property is confiscated and sold of the state/fed gets 40% the media industry 60%.Online piracy will be treated the same only in cases of donation based sites10G is felony, anything over 25G its treated like selling drugs property is confiscated and sold of the state/fed, of course these rules will apply as best they can outside the US as long as no claim to paying  a facet of the world wide recording/media industry is made.

So now we have high crime mostly dealt with now what to do with minor crimes like downloading, well first off we make it a minor criminal offence limit time to no more than 2 years probation and fines of up to 1$ a song, and 15$ for software or hardware regardless of cost. Now there are 2 ways to add it up by the file or by the download, by the download but the total is halved and both are caped at 7G(that’s with lawyer fees) and your wages will be garnished to pay them if you cannot pay it all at once, garnishment is no more than 30% a year or 25% a check, a contract can be worked out to pay it by alterative means.
If you are caught violating the terms of probation that’s a 100$ fine per incident at a 2G cap that will be paid to the state.
Failing to pay dose 3 things jail time of 2 months per grand to have that debt removed from your recorded if you are “unwilling” to pay, if you are just unable to pay you case is looked at by the court and garnishment is halved, if money cannot be extracted and the defendant has mitigating circumstances then the court will dismiss the charges but probation which may linger or be added upon.

In order to make sure that downloading is policed IPs must match up with the user and the ISPs must hand over that data however there is a fine of 1G per item that must be paid to the court if they cannot match up, the burden of wasting the courts time and bullying innocents is on the line here they cannot willfully misuse the court, when they apply for it they can let the defendant know that they are being sued and they should give up all their hardware to the court ASAP if you have hardware issues let the court know you have 5 days to comply to file for a bad data claim then witch the hardware will be scrub thoroughly by the tech lab if they can find real issues they report them if they feel it’s a trick or not the correct hardware they report it and the judge decides from there generally if the defendant can pay it’s a automatic 50% case..

If names and IPs match then with the hardware goes to court if the data is there they win if the data has been altered or removed they win half automatically and get a 1G fine from the court, if the court decides there is not enough information or something that is not a win the plaintiff then pays half the court costs if applicable, this is a means to show the CP owners some slack in the process.

Now that just wraps it up but I still have other thoughts rotting to get out of my skull. One is make CP like a fully configurable contract that’s sold between CP owners if they do not want it to be in the public domain it won’t be but if it falls out of interest from if CP owners and a group can buy it and make it public domain then so be it, once something falls to public domain it cannot be protected because then it is there for everyone to use but new works derived off it may can be.

Then in order to balance perpetual CPs you make a fair use clause stating that out of publication items are free to trade in non profit settings, and as long as something is on a server for sell by the CP owner somewhere its protected from free trade.
Another way to deal with CP is to make it 2$(2,4,8,16,ect,ect) a year doubling it every year so in a decade its 5xx$ 30 years it more like 300Mas government has to put up with a lot of abuse from both sides when dealing with CP why not make it a “if you can afford to keep it past a decade setup”. Even if you halve the payout number (1,2=1,4=2,8=4,16=8,32=16,64=32,128=64,256=128,512=256) it adds up quick!

IMO the point of CP is to protect the owner from for profit uses of its CP, fair use protects the populace and their rights to certain liberties and is it now fair use protects the populace lil from the assault CP conglomerates are placing on it and as time goes on it will grow weaker and weaker while they get more benefits from new laws being passed. NOW before things get worse we need a solid foundation for personal and or private media rights to have the right to infringe on CP under the guidelines of clips/criticism/news, parody, moding hardware/software(reverse engineering without redistribution of whole code), making backups of software, cracking software and media.

Hell if big media had any sense it would hand out a few copy licenses and let outfits share a proration of their profit with them..of course bank accounts will have to be checked regularly and they try to screw with the contract sued into the ground… and no liability of workmanship or quality…still it would bring money in if setup in poorer cities.  Also work with government to put a 30% tax on mod chips and let shops sell them under a fed tax of 10% sale/repair.

The industry is too busy keeping its feet in the sht on the murky road they have tunnel vision on to get out of the shoes and prance in the flowery field beside them!

Skins alive!!

Ok been working the past 3-4 days on self taught hard headed skin/textuering tricks in Paint Shop pro 9.

Heres the frist batch of tests

Using PSP9 I have found you can use duplicate the layer twice use its rastar properties to first knock off the white/black color ranges with blend ranges, then use lighten/darken/dodge  to bring out the dark/light effect and then use blend to adjsut it.

These 2 textures I have done using this process

I am still learning as I go  anyone know of any other tips or tricks?

The War Monkey is a fully automatic lite machine gun, using either assault rife rounds and grenades converted to AR rounds or mini gun rounds in the special version I am still working on. Damage is medium with a slow primary fire and a fast but lose alt fire.

One I have the special made the only thing left is selectable mut code that I need to figure out and painting the assault clips with bananas
